Access to child care is absolutely essential, not only for the proper growth and development of children with disabilities, but for working parents who need to support their families. Privately-run child care centers must comply with title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This title applies to a child care center's interactions with the children, parents, guardians, and potential customers that it serves. Breakthroughs usually come with hard work. Breakthrough Parenting is a program that helps parents understand how children think, how they function at different ages, and how to get effective discipline through teaching what to do, as opposed to just pointing out what not to do. For Parents -– If you have ever had concerns about your child's development, you are not alone. Whether you're worried about your child's use of language, ability to relate to others, or any other developmental concerns, your child relies on you to share your observations with those who can help. Having occasional concerns is a natural part of parenting. But when these concerns persist, it's time to take action. For Practitioners -–This course will offer parents and professionals important information about healthy development, how to monitor it, and how to know when a child has deviated from a healthy developmental path. We focus on the key developmental, social- emotional, and communication milestones and the red flags that may suggest the need for further screening. Finally, we will provide resource information about autism and other developmental disorders.

In a child care environment, it is critical as young children do not have a fully developed immune system to protect them, so extra care and caution is imperative. What is the best hand-drying method: hot air blower or paper towels? The answer may surprise you.
