Case Study

Another program that was monitored had been using an area of the center for the
three-year-old class but was not appropriately or sufficiently set-up for the class. Furniture was randomly placed, there were few learning centers,
and none of the centers were labeled appropriately. The lesson plan posted was from the month prior to the monitoring visit. Once the center was notified that changes were necessary in order to be in compliance
with program requirements,
the owners completely renovated the room and upon follow-up, the environment
was calm, clean, and condu-cive to learning. What was formerly a chaotic environ-
ment was revamped to provide a developmentally appropriate setting where children were engaged in beneficial early learning activities.
